The mission of PITIP-MITIM is to carry out professional, research and development activities in the fields of maritime regulation, safety, technical compliance and maritime operations.

By combining professional expertise, practical experience and modern technology, the institute aims to improve access to maritime legislation, professional guidance and best practices for maritime professionals, organizations and other stakeholders across the maritime sector.

As part of its research and development activities, PITIP-MITIM is also developing **FERN RuleFinder**—an advanced regulatory intelligence platform designed to simplify the search, organisation and practical application of international maritime regulations and professional knowledge. The platform supports faster, more accurate and better-informed decision-making within the maritime sector.
